A career prosecutor for over 30 years, Anne Colt Leitess first served as State’s Attorney in 2013 and was elected to the office in 2018. She has spent her career fighting for justice and protecting our rights. She’s delivered victories in the courtroom and led the Office of the State’s Attorney with vision and integrity.
While we’ve made great strides on public safety and made positive changes to the State’s Attorney’s Office, the job is not done. Anne will continue the progress of the past, and has the experience to guide the State’s Attorney’s Office into the future.

Anne has never shied away from tough cases-FIGHTING FOR VICTIMS AND SURVIVORS OF CRIME
Whether it’s prosecuting mass murderers, child abuse or gang leaders, Anne has never shied away from taking on the most challenging cases in Anne Arundel County. She was the first woman appointed to the Violent Crime Team, then became its leader. As State’s Attorney, she runs an office of more than 50 attorneys prosecuting crime and protecting the community.
